Finally!

I'm long overdue on this blog.
Move to LA finally happened! I've been here a month or so, and after a lot of b.s. interviews, finally landed a temp job.

Here.

(This is seriously the building I work in. There are DWARVES on the building. Honest to god DWARVES)

It's all good. The job is easy, but I need to touch base with my headhunter, cause things are still so uncertain. I had a really weird interview with the hiring manager, which led to anxiety about the job, position, team etc...

Times have been good. Been hanging out a lot with E, which is always nice, as we hole up in her apartment, drinking tecates and pbr's, and laugh and shoot the shit.

K HATES it here, but only cause she doesn't get to go to Fort Funston, has to share a small apartment with B, and isn't allowed on the bed. BUT, she's a good little puppy who will be queen of the roost when we finally get our own place.

I'm going to try to work on some things: writing, looking for open mic's, etc...but generally things are pulling together. I'm really happy here, and even though I miss all of my SF crew, especially M, I feel connected to them all via daily emails of ridiculousness.

BIG NEWS:
D & D are gearing up for their move, and we're trying to put together a Vegas or Disneyland trip, which should be really, really fun.

D & C are having a little TBShe, and I fly up for the shower at the end of the month.

S & J are tying the knot next week. I can't wait to stand up there with her. I'm so proud of her, and know she and J will live a long good life together. She's also having a little tbshe as well.

The biggest news of course, is..our very own A is engaged. I couldn't help but tear up when I read the text, and am so happy and excited for the both of them. Dammit. He finally put a ring on it. A, if you'da given me a few more years to get my shit together, we coulda had a good life together..

That is all for now.
I'm so durn tired, I can't even see straight.

Dog dream journals

Ahhh..dog dreams. Not to be confused with dreams about dogs.
But my dreams are usually pretty deep, so I've had a pen and pad of paper next to my bed the past few months to write down things I remembered, phrases/words about them when I wake up.
This one is musta been a doozy.

-Grapes of Wrath
-NPR road trip?
-Middle east
-looked like Brooklyn
-Reality show

Huh?

Meanwhile, the move to LA is slowly coming together. I think I have the car stuff figured out, and I am working on some interviews.

I need to get the hell outta dodge yo.

Guilty Pleasures - 4/14/2010

I'm sitting around here, trying to get it motivate to go upstairs and sleep but instead am watching the tail end of "The Net". Remember that movie? With Sandra Bullock? About the computer programmer who gets her identity hacked?
SO, I've never seen this before, but apparently its set in San Francisco. I like the part in the end where she goes to this one building on Market, to hack into the system, and as she's leaving, there is some random candlelit vigil for some non-descript "cause". I think I saw the words, "healthcare" on some signs.
Sandy Bullock also is wearing some deeeeep ass high waisted khaki's.

God love me though. I want to see this hot mess

I also just finished reading the Percy Jackson series. Its fun. Like Harry Potter but with Greek mythology. Its made for some HILARIOUS misunderstanding of newscasters talking about Haiti's government.

I never thought I'd say it, because the movie is absolute perfection, but Parenthood is kind of a good show. The cast is really solid, the dialogue isn't contrived and the soundtrack is kind of good.

AND, last but not least....This was on tv last night and I had to watch it. Its one of my favorite movies, and probably the best part of the movie. And trrrrust. I have this song on my ipod..

Reason # 1 why I'm glad I don't have children

Its effing pouring outside and I've got the deepest hangover. UGH. Sake. The devils elixir. It just goes down so smooth and you don't realize how much you've had to drink until its too late. I just got out of bed an hour ago, and I'm contemplating getting back in. My head hurts, my stomach hurts, I'm effing dehydrated and my lungs hurt from smoking too much.

This is reason # 1 I am so glad I don't have children.

New dog, new bangs, and the Sunday I blacked out.

Humina. You guys. Times is flying! I don't even know how we're in April already.

I interviewed last week with a pretty large law firm and am waiting for to hear back. I think it went well, and I'm just WAITING for the day I can walk into C's office and tell her that L.M. can blow me where the pampers is.
I know I always say it, but seriously. This is the shittiest company I've ever worked for. They had to fire one woman for complete incompetence, and rather then get a temp to help with the accounts payable, are now working M overtime. This on top of the fact that I found out that Mr. M bought himself a freaking 2010 Ferrari. I want to kick up a fuss and ask for a year review (shoot me in the face, I can't believe its been a year already), and demand a raise, but don't even want to fight for it.

I'm going to DC in a few weeks and I'm really excited about that. I found a crazy cheap flight and so I'm going to go stay with E, and go to the Smithsonian, Natural History museum, Library of Congress and all those other cool places. I heard I'm missing all the cherry blossom festivities, but who cares, it'll be pretty, and warm.

Karen got her collar cam. She's really good at looking down when the camera clicks, so a lot of her pictures are of her chin.

Like so.
And another...

But she did manage to actually get some fun pictures of the park:

and:

And one of her leg, which cracks me up:

The BIGGEST news is, of course, is my brother rescued a new dog. His name is Bojangles, but I think he looks like a Harold.

Also..this happened last Sunday:

and this:

and this:

and this:

Good Lord. I haven't been right since.
