This past Dead President's day weekend we went to Truckee. M---, D---- and I drove up on Friday morning and waited for everyone to come up.

D---- very generously offered his family's cabin for us, and so we got to spend the weekend. It is a cozy cabin on a hill near Tahoe Donner. It was built by D-----'s grandparents in the late 70's, before everyone else wised up to how beautiful the land is.
I needed to just be away with my friends, and even though we all weren't there, it was just what the doctor ordered. It is also a dog friendly cabin, so I was able to bring K---- up for her first snow.

She has no idea

She was scared of it at first, but once she got her snow legs, she was a snowbunny.

It was Z--'s first snow too! Z-- and K---- were thick as thieves. They both were very sweet to each other, being gentle and sharing toys and food.

This was the backyard!

This is all of us before they all went to snowboard. K---- is camoflaged in there.

Saturday we all went sledding.

D---- found this at the bottom of the hill

My antique cans!

All in all a good fun weekend. Beers, buds and boarding. What more could a girl ask for?

Things are worse then ever!

Alas. The dog washing fairy DID NOT visit while I was at work today, so I had to give K a bath. She hated it, but I just caught her lying on her back, kicking all four of her legs up in the air, so I'm pretty sure she's feeling good. Especially with this dumb heat wave.
Got a lot more on track with my writing today, and while I probably won't be able to write tonight (going to Molly Malone's to see C's band with E, L and M), am going to do a lot of catch up this weekend.

Thats all for now, but heres a picture of me and my babycakes.

(K is pretending to look sad that she got a bath, but I know she feels good)

Dog dream journals

Ahhh..dog dreams. Not to be confused with dreams about dogs.
But my dreams are usually pretty deep, so I've had a pen and pad of paper next to my bed the past few months to write down things I remembered, phrases/words about them when I wake up.
This one is musta been a doozy.

-Grapes of Wrath
-NPR road trip?
-Middle east
-looked like Brooklyn
-Reality show

Huh?

Meanwhile, the move to LA is slowly coming together. I think I have the car stuff figured out, and I am working on some interviews.

I need to get the hell outta dodge yo.

So deeply deep - The weekend that will live in infamy.

heh heh

We're cute, but that idiot in the back is dumb. It was a nice day.

Then this happened in the car.

It was actually sunny!

Karen Thea made an appearance as well.

OK. So. This weekend got pretty deep. It was M & E's birthday Saturday and Sunday respectively.
E flew up on Friday night and she, M and I had a delicious meal at Hooters, and then met D & D at the Fever Hundo. God. I love that bar.

Saturday we woke up early, and headed over to meet everyone for the Barrel Tasting. A, M, L and I drove up behind the limo that had E, M, D & C. The wine tasting was really nice, and we even got some sun. I had to take it easy, cause you know, I was driving, but man. Some people got real loose. Particularly the birthday girls. I didn't get to take as many pictures as I wanted, but man, got a few really good ones. L met us at the third to last winery.
One of the wineries we went to was filled with people wearing pastels and popped collars and argyle sweaters tied around their shoulders. L found out it was all a gag, and we started to talking to a few guys. One guy was so drunk, and shoving popcorn into his face, I had to cover my glass so it wouldn't get popcorn kernals he was spitting out as he spoke.
Good times though, they were fun.

We got back to the city around 7, and I stayed in the rest of the night.

Sunday was beautiful and sunny, albeit cold and we had a pretty fun game of sloshball going. Karen went crazy, running around, barking at dogs who would run through, and getting pet. I got to see G, who I never see anymore, and generally got to hang and bang.
You guys. I don't know if I'm going to make it through this week. I just want to live every day like I did this weekend. Forever.
